For liquidators, trustees and founders
Closing a company? Its archives may still have value.
When a company winds down, its archives usually sit unused until they are deleted. We assess whether, and how, they can be licensed lawfully, and what that could add to the estate.
§1
Who this is for
- Liquidators and bankruptcy trustees (kurator, Insolvenzverwalter, curator).
- Founders and boards closing a company voluntarily.
- Advisers handling a solvent wind-down.
§2
What our assessment covers
Data inventory
Which systems exist, for which period, and what they contain.
Legal route
Who acts as controller, whether and on what terms the estate may license the data, which notices are needed and what must be excluded.
Value
An indicative fixed fee for a licence to the anonymised output.
Decision
You decide. If the legal route is not clear, we say so and do not proceed.
§3
What we will not promise
Licensing data from an estate raises questions that differ by country and are not fully settled. We will not promise a sale before the legal route is clear, and we do not ask a trustee to act outside their mandate.
§4
Request an assessment
Write to hello@knowlode.com with the company, its country, and the contact details of the trustee or liquidator. Or start with an estimate.
